The red and the constructivism by Ivo Sekulovski In the third issue of Edicola, the Macedonian photographer investigates red and war

Constructivism, war, and danger, red is this and much more. Constructing Theatre is the project presented by photographer Ivo Sekulovski for the third issue of Edicola, the red

In this short text, the Macedonian photographer recounts the inspirations behind his shots published yesterday on Edicola.

“The story is connected with the constructivism current that happened as a result to World War One. It means to start again from the beginning, from the base, to build using geometric shapes. There’s a sense of tension and danger especially in the shoot where the model is holding a rope that reminds of an explosion. An extremely actual theme because of this crisis times we’re living in, we’re always surrounded by the fear of that a new war is coming… and after that, we start once again back to the beginning.

Even the red props are a symbol of danger, fire, pain, warning and, at the same time, they’re also the geometric shapes that characterize constructivism. They are repeated through the whole story, they’re the true connection".
