Simon Porte backs to basics.
And he does so with Marseille je t'aime, a new project set in Marseille, a city in southern France neighboring his native country, Salon-de-Provence.

Next May, during the OpenMyMed Festival, Jacquemus' designer will be featured in a fashion show, three exhibitions, and Marseilles, a 300-pages book that includes an exclusive selection of images dedicated to the city by contemporary artists, painters, and photographers.

The exhibition titled Maisons and Archives will present a series of geometric concrete sculptures at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) from May 12 to 14 January and a video, Bodies in open spaces, inspired by the French classic soundtrack La Gloire de Mon Père and created in collaboration with photographer David Luraschi along with performance artist Willi Dorner. The latest, Images, will be held from 13 May to 31 July and will screen on the walls of the Chapelle Saint-Jean video and images depicting the designer's inspirations and creations.

It will be like an Instagram story only more interesting, I hope. I've always been obsessed with making images, I have a collection of around 30,000 and I take around 500 or 600 per day.

Finally, the last show will be on May 13. For the occasion, Jacquemus brings back on stage Les santons de Provence, the SS17 collection presented for the first time in Paris last September: 32 models walk the 18 meters high walkway that connects the Place d'Armes to MuCEM- Musèe des civilizations de l'Europe et de la Mèditerranèe.
