Too hot to win

The truth is that from 8 January 2017 Eugeniè Bouchard is a lone player. Before she had a great company, keeping out an eventually rasputinian Sharapova’s reaction, so cold and moderate. Unfortunately, the pretty one Grigor Dimitrov, a few days ago, has won Brisbane International, starting in a wonderful way a year that should be his blessing one. Generational change really may help him: no more fab four, since some years actually. Nole Djokovic stopped to be so overbearing becoming an almost normal player, he left to Andy Murray the mean and the greedy role, but the Scottish guy never showed that kind of malice and mental solidity during the whole match in order to beat someone better than him. That kind of last twenty years great players (and Borg) typically strength.

Federer can be still so competitive due to a willpower that taking him to something godly. A champion, not a simple great player, would be over since five years ago, maybe more. But he almost every single year reaches Wimbledon final. Amazing, nothing to say. About new players, there are very good guys, as Zverev (he beated King Roger in one of his kingdoms, at Halle) or Thiem, who has won already 7 championships. Both of them will surely main characters in next years, maybe still in 2017. But Dimitrov has some benefits: more experience, a semifinal at Wimbledon and a complicated two years period while he worked hardly about his deficiencies, being anyway a great tennis talent. 

Why didn’t angelic Eugenie get the same? Using the same two years period to fix some deficiencies in her behavior and – a few – technical issues. In 2014 she has reached Wimbledon final, as outsider, most people had talked about her like the probable winner; her rival, Kvitova, had won the championship 3 years before but she always was falling in physical issues. Bouchard would be able to use her sparkling age, her almost sitting on the ground backhand (maybe her best shot), her young-looking foolishness and her fawn eyes she showed every day on Instagram. Instead, the Canadian girl decided to suffer Kvitova’ strength, winning only 3 games in entire match. Point, game, set, match. Since that day, Geniè understood how hard it is to reach the top, too much complicated. Something about Martina Navratilova.

The location is pretty known, but in one of 2016 last picture, the Canadian player makes herself free from an XXL sweatshirt and virgin smiles. That’s 2016 greeting and 2017 receiving photos, so coherent with her repulsion ideas against tennis. Or the other picture, where the reiterate nail polish is so ugly and it seems reminding us Sauron’s eye or Stargate’s door. 

Fortunately, she got off that nail polish in this other picture, where clearly Bouchard is not going to her training, even if she dresses her technical sponsor t-shirt, but she is just showing her best: be an influencer. The photo is her beauty power symbol. The lingering look but so sweet, tied hair should suggest sloppiness but they just talk about openness, and the finger is in middle way between chin support and the typical and so sexy pointer finger in the mouth – more the last one. 

Another mannerism made up by the Blonde Canadian Eugeniè social network activity, is the falling jacket; a clear temptation commercial representation, it has nothing to share with the real and iconic erotic displays, as Barbara Bouchet and Edwige Fenech moods. It is just a mechanical and repeated representation of something that should be natural, but it doesn’t. Bouchard has that kind of see-through beauty, out of tune with the aggressive shape or looking. 

Her aesthetic rules better suggested by the previously picture, where the sweater, no make-up and no shampoo are not enough. She also dresses an all-covering Rolex white coat. But her shapes are better showed in every picture that sketches her during her training or once she just has ended it up. 

But Bouchard has no boundaries because she can make a picture while she is reading in Yale library or when she is joking on Kim Kardashian, both of them so easily. Or making a photo along with Justin “Hecaneverything” Trudeau and Celine “andouioh” Dion, why not? 

In the same way, but showing some issues, Eugenié bends herself using dog snapchat application, she posted a vintage picture, her just wake up photo (seriously?) and a picture where only with her beauty she cannot be ridiculous while she is playing a kitten so good.

Thinking about her photo while she makes Hula Hoop or she needs help to take away her shoes, they would have been enough to fall in love with her. Really.

The second one illustrates her social network activity changing over through two- years period: from a strictly and personal use, so ironic, to a phony and negotiated one, as top-models use to do. We are not angry, just to be clear. But we did really believe, during that Wimbledon final we hoped in something that would be able to join beauty and greatness. And we cannot think just the broken up with Maria has been the only Dimitrov changing reason – we didn’t see any boyfriend in Eugenié’s pictures. It is something close to the self-denial. Tennis asks to its characters to shape their personality and psychology until they became tough as Donatello’s David, and she has been like this in the beginning.
