Andrew Bogut and that time he tried to buy some weed

Andrew Bogut and that time he tried to buy some weed Mavs' center said: I thought I've bought it, but in the end it was just regular grass

A few days ago, Golden State Warriors’ coach Steve Kerr catalyzed all the attentions because of his declaration. Last season’s Coach of the Year said he used marijuana in order to cope with chronic pain after his back surgery in early season last year. And regardless of the faith everyone has in Kerr’s word, many of his actual and former players were questioned about it.

For example Andrew Bogut, who left the Warriors this summer - one of the sacrifices to get KD - and joined the Dallas Mavericks. Before his Sunday game against the Chicago Bulls, the Australian center gave to the media one of his sincere answers. “I've never really gotten high in my life”, he said, ”I thought I had some weed as a kid, but I think the guy sold me regular grass”. But he didn’t only give us this epic answer, he also said his opinion about allowing the drug for medicinal reasons.

“I’ve never tried it, so I wouldn’t know. But from what I hear about former players with chronic injuries and pains, it helps a lot. But I believe that would bring much trouble inside the league”. Frank and sincere as always, Mavs’ center also said something very true. “You have guys in pro sports playing hungover. You have guys come to practice drunk sometimes. That’s how it is...But as far as it being legal in society, it should be fine to be legal.”

So, an innocent question about Steve Kerr’s back has become something far more serious. But at least, we’ve learned something. If you want to do a cool interview, do it with Andrew Bogut. But with precautions.
