The fact that football played on consoles has become a proper mass phenomenon in the last months, is doubtless. It can be testified by the interests of some clubs towards the e-games, with many teams - like Sampdoria in Italy - that signed professional gamers to be represented in the major video game tournaments.

One the most beloved passions of the football simulators’ lovers is the Ultime Team mode on the FIFA series, some sort of virtual Fantasy Football where video gamers can buy the best players on the planet using their credits, creating the best team possible, also thanks to the affinity between them. For some years now, EA SPORTS introduced the Icon mode (previously called Legends), with the teams’ uniforms designed by designer Angelo Trofa. And yesterday, the software house unveiled further details, that will make all the nostalgic gamers so much happy. For every Icon on FIFA 18 in fact, there will be three different versions.

Every player will be available in three different moments of his career and will be different in each and every one of them. The technical features will change - the physical values will decrease with the aging, but the tactical ones will improve - and also the look, with the aging of the player and the change of style, hairstyle, and movements. A proper gift for all the nostalgics, that will be able to play with three different Maradonas (’82, ’86 e ’89), three Del Pieros (’93, ’95 e 2006), three Ronaldinhos (’02, ’04 e 2010), three Pelés (’58, ’62 e ’70), and so on.

So, If you like the idea to build your own starting eleven composed only by legends, that’s your chance. Also because you won’t have any other chance to play with an attack formed by Ronaldinho, Pelé, and Maradona.
