#makefootballweird: Avery Dennison Toffee League is born

#makefootballweird: Avery Dennison Toffee League is born The new amateur league in Portland was conceived thanks to the efforts of Avery Dennison and Toffee Club

A few days ago, the New York Times itself (the Post, in Italy) realized how important is amateur football right now. A phenomenon that, here at nss sports, we try to tell you day after day, highlighting the impact that it has in multiple aspects of society, like social inclusion and fashion. Some leagues have born, like Le Ballon, that in France unites teams composed by creatives of all kinds, ready to challenge each other on the pitch and then meet outside, to cooperate in their respective fields. But there also are operations like Nowhere FC (a true precursor), or SEASON and This Fan Girl, that faces football in a lateral, and equally important, way.

nss sports itself has born from that very idea, with the will to tell all this renewed hype around the world of football, and to educate about a football culture that could be – as it happens in every aspect of life – across the board and multi-sectorial.

From this idea the Toffee League has born, a newborn amateur league in Portland, founded by the Toffee Club – a gathering of artists and football lovers since 2016 – and Avery Dennison, which we already talked about before. As it’s said in its biography, the Toffee League has been created with the will to #makefootballweird, borrowing Portland’s definition as “the weirdest city in America”. A community (some may say) hipster, that gathers artists, designers, artisans, bikes owners, without any kind of discrimination. A part of healthy football that starts next June 25, of course in Portland. Here’s a brief view of the eight teams in
the league.
