Supreme's Brick is out!

And sold out

Supreme's Brick is out! And sold out

Supreme is one of the most iconic streetwear brands like… ever. And maybe one of the reasons why is so beloved is the sense of humour inherent in it. For example, for AW16 they launched a pretty eccentric item within their collection of accessories. Not a weird bag or a striking necklace, but a brick. Like, an actual brick. A Box Logo-branded brick.

Why a brick? Well, first of all, if you’re unfamiliar with this reality, you should know that in the streetwear communitybrick” means also something else. It’s much used as a verb, “to brick”, meaning to fail really badly or in a spectacular way. Another very popular expression is “bricking a fit”, which stands for “putting together a horrible outfit”.

Second reason why this makes – kind of – sense, is that Supreme loves to joke around (remember when they sold branded crowbars and hammers?). The brick represents a mockery towards the thought that people are so fascinated by the brand that they’ll buy anything with a Supreme Logo on it. And, at the same time, well, it validates it, 'cause the hype was so real and people freaked out so much about it, that as soon as it dropped in the shops – yesterday – it went sold out almost immediately.
