This is it, the Art Basel 2016 is here. The biggest international fair of modern and contemporary art will take place in Miami Beach, from December 1, giving rise to five very-full days of exhibitions, performances, live shows and parties. It's a great exposition with guests and exclusive events, which will invede every streets of the Florida.

The schedule for the fair is so full of events that it's not possible to list every single one. So, here's a brief recap of the can't-miss dates from this Art Basel edition.

MUSIC

   

Not just art, but also a lot of music during the five days of Art Basel. Among the events to remember absolutely there is the Kendrick Lamar's show at Faena Art Dome, in December 1, during which the artist Shanell Martin will perform, inspired by the rapper's music. 

On the same day, Young Thug will be on stage during the III Points Music, Art and Technology Festival, sharing the show with hip-hop producer and WEDIDIT's founder, Shlohmo.

On December 2 Madonna, will host a benefit event to support Raising Malawi organization at Faena Forum. Special guests of the evening: Chris Rock, Sean Penn and Ariana Grande.

Still Friday, write in your agenda the “Hip Hop Through teh Lens of Photography” event, curated by Billboard and 1800 Tequila: the exhibition will show soma pictures of the most influential names from the music scene (Gucci Mane, Future and Young Thung, to name a few), shot by photographers  Gunner Stahl, Cam Kirk and Places + Faces. During the party there will be Dj Brittany Sky and DJ Ohso, and it will end with a special after-party, in which Rae Sremmurd will perform.

FASHION

 H&M and PAPER Magazine teamed up to create a private party on the occasion of the launch of Alex Katz X H&M capsule collection. The event took place Wednesday, November 30 at Miami Beach EDITION and during the evening Nelly Furtado and Dj Heron Preston performed live.

On December 3, Adidas King Push EQT Greyscale sneakers, from the collaboration between the rapper Pusha T and the sportwear brand, will be officially presented and put on sale.

From 1 to 3 December, Public School New York brand will create a pop-up radio installation at The Confidante. The project, named WNL Radio, will be curated by the fashion designers duo Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osbourne, which will show a radio-art programming.

Fron November 30 to December 4, the Design Miami space will show the Objets Nomades installation, the furnitures collection by Louis Vuitton.

ART & DESIGN

Finally, the focus of Art Basel Miami: the art and design exhibition. Not easy to do a good selection of the very large and worthy proposals from this year's schedule, but we tried.

Without a doubt, the exhibition who deserves out attentions is Desire (from November 30 to December 4 at Moore Building), created by the duo Jeffrey Deitch and Larry Gagosian, and curated by Diana Widmaier-Picasso, which shows 50 artists, including Noboyushi Araki, Vanessa Beecroft, Jeff Koons, Harmony Korine, Diego Rivera, Helmut Newton, Nan Goldin and Bret Easton Ellis.

Virgil Abloh, is expanding from fashion to design, presenting a design collection by OFF-WHITE throughout the event, considering it a new grand debut. You can see the collection from December 1 to 4.

The PAMM – Pérez Art Museum miami will show the artist David Reed with the exhibition “Vice and Reflection – An Old Painting, New Paintings and Animations”. There will be also a retrospective dedicated to Argentine artist, Julio Le Parc.

Not to be missed the PULSE pavilion, with more than international galleries and 200 artists, open from 1 to 4 December. This year the exposition, curated by Jasmine Wahi and Rebecca Jampol, will have a new space, PLAY, dedicated to video-making and digital art.

 Regarding Italian artists, on Friday, December 2 the “Maurizio Cattelan: Be Right Back” documentary will be screened at Colony Theatre. The docu, directed by Maura Axelrod, was shown for the first time during the last Tribeca Film Festival.
